Fifty years ago, notable UCLA professors were given the chance to put all of their life lessons and advice for students into one "last lecture." Two years ago, ASC has brought back this tradition through the My Last Lecture Award. This award, established to honor a UCLA professor who is an inspiration to students, is UCLA's only student nominated professor award. The winning professor recieves the opportunity to give a lecture answering the same question posed to the original lecturers: What would you tell your audience if you had but one lecture to give - your last lecture on this earth?
More than 4000 Bruins participated in the selections of the 2010 winner, Dr. Asim Dasgupta of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, and the 2011 winner, Dr. Richard G. Hovannisian of the Department of History. Don't miss your opportunity to vote for your favorite professor this winter!
