Campus Volunteers: On-Campus Programs

Campus Volunteers (CV) is an avenue for Alumni Scholars to get involved in the UCLA community by volunteering for events and programs on and off campus. Community service is a significant aspect of the Alumni Scholars Club because it keeps us unified toward improving our university and the community around us. The Campus Volunteers program has the power to bring scholars together, strengthening our ASC bond and connection to each other. Together we are able to welcome foreign leaders to UCLA, mentor at-risk children, proctor track meets and give blood to those in short supply. In short, CV is your pathway to experience and aide in the improvement of UCLA while fostering a close knit relationship to ASC as a whole.

On-Campus Programs Testimonials

Kelly Clark (Rediscover UCLA):

"Volunteering for Rediscover UCLA was a pleasant experience that allowed me to witness first hand how a college experience at UCLA is powerful enough to form ties that last a lifetime. I was surprised at the close relationships between UCLA Alumni that I was able to observe, as well as the collective eagerness these alumni had for learning about the breaking new technological discoveries made by UCLA. Interacting with these alumni, many of whom are Alumni Association donors, was wonderful, and it was amusing to hear how UCLA had developed throughout the years! I would definitely volunteer for other events like this, it was great to meet other students and alumni alike."

Annette Velez (Marathon Kids):

"Well, I actually really liked the event because the kids were so excited and happy to be there. I helped with staging, which was receiving the kids from concourse and directing them to the people at the starting line. They were so excited to start the final lap that they wanted to start running already; we had to prevent them. After all the kids were done with the lap, we helped break down everything that was set up. Overall, the event went smoothly and it was fun."

Sherry Rahmatian (UCLA Track Meets):

"Volunteering at a track meet reminded me of the range of talent that students exhibit at this school, from athletics to theater to science. It reminded me of just how proud I am to give back to UCLA."

Bianca Paraguya (State Finals):

"Being a part of the State Finals experience was extremely rewarding. It helped me to remember that I was part of an organization that helped students excel in leaps and bounds by offering both financial and personal support. Volunteering on that particular day felt more significant than other service projects I'd taken part in because I was witnessing new Alumni Scholars being welcomed into the fold. It was great!
