Come learn about the Los Angeles Team Mentoring program in which volunteers mentor middle school students one day a week after school on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. To learn more about this great opportunity to earn service hours while making a difference in a child's life, join your fellow Alumni Scholars and LATM-TeamWorks for a one-hour information session just before Quarterly.

Join the fun, have some dinner, listen to a great presentation, earn one service hour and learn about the upcoming events for the quarter. Service hours earned attending ASC quarterly meetings do not count towards the three-hour Alumni Association requirement.

Oct. 2 Rose Bowl
Show school children what college is all about at the next I'm Going to College (IGTC) event. Earn service hours while giving back to the city by encouraging the next generation of college students. Receive a free T-shirt, breakfast, lunch and a ticket to the game. Volunteers must be at the Rose Bowl at 8:45 a.m. and buses will be leaving from Ackerman Union at 7:45 a.m. To RSVP, please contact campusvolunteers@alumnischolarsclub.org

Enjoy mixing and mingling with the perks of light refreshments as you spend some quality time with your Peer! Mentors attend from 5:30-6pm to hear about the Peers-Helping-Peers Program, and new students join at 6pm to begin the social portion of the evening. This event is mandatory to all members of the Peer-2-Peer program, but is also open to any new students interested in joining

This session is taught by the LATM staff and will help mentors learn more about the program and how to be an effective mentor. This is mandatory for all participants of LATM.

Don't have a car? Want to explore beyond Westwood? Don't despair - come explore Los Angeles with your fellow scholars! We'll show you how to use public transportation to get to some of LA's coolest sites! Hang out with awesome people, learn how to get around, and See the City! Possible locations include: the Getty Museum, 3rd Street Promenade, Marina Del Rey Aquatics Center, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Venice Beach. Come join the Outreach Committee to learn about the benefits of returning to your high school to promote UCLA and the Alumni Association Scholarship. Attendees will get information on the program and receive guidance in how to set up a presentation, what to discuss and highlight, and what kind of information should be included. Light snacks will be provided.

Join the Creme de la Creme of ASC for the grand opening of the Four Deuces Speakeasy. With New York's finest and brightest starlets, gangsters, hitmen, politicians, and Jazz singers, this roaring 20's scene will see the making of big deals and is sure to go out with a bang...Compete with your rivals to be the first to solve the classic game of “whodunit?” while enjoying a cocktail party in character and costume. Break out the best of your 1920's attire. As it is the era of prohibition, please RSVP as soon as possible so we may tip off the police ahead of time. So fun it is to die for.

Interested in having a large early Sunday dinner with ASC while mingling with Alumni the local Los Angeles area? Look no further - ASC is hosting its annual multi-location potluck with local Los Angeles Alumni groups in the apartments right off of campus! Four apartments, four different food themes, one fantastic feast. On foot. If you are interested in bringing something to the event, RSVP by November 4th to AlumniRelations@alumnischolarsclub.org along with what dish you had in mind. We'll send you information about where your food will be served and what theme you have by November 6th. For those of you interested in the grub, be sure to show up by 4:00 pm at De Neve Plaza. You'll be escorted from there to your starting apartment. Save some room though, because you'll be savoring goods from four different areas in the Westwood apartments!

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and Campus by taking a break with ASC in Carpinteria. Don't miss out on this majestic California camp-out under the stars on one of Santa Barbara's finest beaches. Trip includes an afternoon on the beach complete with sunset, and a nighttime campfire with songs and s'mores.
To get on the trip, bring $20 to Michelle's office by Wednesday November 10th and RSVP to scholarrelations@alumnischolarsclub.org. The trip is a first come first serve basis and we will have a waiting list if needed! If you can drive/ donate your car you will not have to pay the $20. Large vehicles (mini van, SUV etc.) would be most helpful! Email scholarrelations@alumnischolarsclub.org if you would like to drive.

Join your fellow scholars for a fun and unique opportunity as we cheerfully represent Alumni Scholarships in this annual holiday parade. Scholars will be marching a giant balloon through the parade route and when we pass the hosts, they will mention Alumni Scholarships and give our website so viewers can support the scholarship program. Earn service hours while we advertise our program to the Los Angeles community. Receive a free event T-shirt. To RSVP, please contact scholarrelations@alumnischolarsclub.org.
