Upon receiving an Alumni Scholarship, students are automatically granted access to the Alumni Scholars Club (ASC) at UCLA. The Alumni Scholars Club is supported by and works in conjunction with the UCLA Alumni Association to give members various perks and privileges. Additionally, ASC provides members with various opportunities to engage in the required community service for annual scholarship renewal.

Alumni Scholar Club Vision Statement:

It is our goal to unite and utilize the talents of Alumni Scholars in order to fully embrace the values of community, leadership, and service. To accomplish this, ASC has developed and adopted our own unique set of strategic goals: PIECES.
  • Promote opportunities unique to Alumni Scholars. Experience the values and benefits of the Alumni Scholars Club by participating in activities throughout the year, including: Homecoming, Dinner for 12 Strangers, Interview with a Bruin, and Spring Sing.
  • Identify and promote service programs for Alumni Scholars. Join us for opportunities to serve UCLA and the greater Los Angeles community through programs such as UCLA's I'm Going to College athletic event for teens or volunteer at one of the UCLA Alumni Associations various events. Remember, Alumni Scholars earn required service hours while volunteering!
  • Encourage a strong social bond among Alumni Scholars. Meet students who share similar academic and social interests as you by participating in the many ASC mixers/socials and quarterly meetings. Additionally, new to the 2017-2018 academic year: try Scholar Connect, ASC's new interactive social environment where you can match with scholars in similar classes and majors to form study groups or other relationships and friendships.
  • Create productive relationships with Alumni. Interact with the Alumni who made your individual scholarship to UCLA possible at ASC-sponsored activities and see what your fellow Alumni Scholars have accomplished under the guidance of their own UCLA educators. Additionally, enroll in the ASC Mentor Program in the early fall and get to know an alumnus who can provide you guidance and special opportunities for your educational and/or career paths.
  • Encourage leadership among Alumni Scholars. Become an Alumni Scholars Club coordinator and learn to manage student programs and an overall large organization. Likewise, hone your leadership skills through the Leadership Development Program and their numerous workshops throughout the year.
  • Support scholarships for the education of promising students. Help spread the word about Alumni Scholarships and the ULCA Alumni Association by visiting high schools or other college campuses and talking to prospective students through our Ambassador Program. Support the next-generation of Alumni Scholars by donating to the ASC Scholarship Fund.
